Hello Millow, sorry I do not have any written information on this trailer braking. What I can say to you that is there was two ways of doing it, you could employ an arrangement of valve attached to the foot brake which operated the brakes on the trailer but this could be expensive but there was a less expensive manner easier to make but it is a little primitive in its action. Use a small hydraulic ram to operate the brakes and to use the hydraulic lever to power it. It should not be a large Ram or it will exert too much pressure and will lock the wheels on the trailer. You must prevent the lower links of the tractor from rising so that it does not cut the power if they are allowed to go to the top. Actuate the hydraulic lever to slow down you down, do not apply the full power, a small test will let you see how that functions, they can be very powerful it naturally will depend on how good the brakes of the trailer are. There is even another way that I have thought of just now, they use a small air compressor for slowing down a caravan, actuated by the footbrake, you could attach one of the latter to the tractor and use a stop lamp switch attached to the brake system to operate the compressor switching it on and off. I never employed that on a tractor but I have used it on a trailer behind a car and they work very well. Perhaps interesting to look into more... ..John
